00:07.656 --> 00:09.137
[SPEAKER_00]: I was grooming celebrity dogs.
00:09.377 --> 00:12.639

00:27.864 --> 00:30.685
[SPEAKER_01]: Hello and welcome back to Be Like Changers.
00:30.865 --> 00:37.307
[SPEAKER_01]: I am your host Kathy Codes and today's episode is one that truly represents what Be Like Changers is about.
00:38.007 --> 00:50.071
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you meet someone at a small pop-up shopping event in years later you're sitting across from them celebrating massive growth community impact friendships and purpose.
00:50.311 --> 00:56.132
[SPEAKER_01]: Today, we are celebrating a woman who turned her love for dogs into a movement of care, trust, and community.
00:56.592 --> 01:01.894
[SPEAKER_01]: Priscilla was just voted best dog groomer 2026 in Olaith, the Kansas.
01:02.474 --> 01:17.397
[SPEAKER_01]: She just crossed a thousand followers on Instagram, and now we're helping her throw a huge customer appreciation celebration, because when small business wins, our community wins too, and I'm so excited
01:20.338 --> 01:23.759
[SPEAKER_01]: with the wellness spot for shop for dogs.
01:23.839 --> 01:24.759
[SPEAKER_01]: I always say that.
01:24.819 --> 01:41.063
[SPEAKER_01]: The wellness shop for dogs and I am so excited to have you not only is she a very good friend of mine now over the years, but she also takes care of my fur babies, my grand dog Chanel and my dog,
01:42.363 --> 01:46.526
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm telling you it takes a lot of patience with them too, but thank you.
01:46.626 --> 01:48.608
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited to have you today.
01:48.708 --> 01:51.970
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy to be here, I'm glad you're invited me on here.
01:52.151 --> 01:54.472
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, welcome, and welcome to J.T.
01:54.532 --> 01:55.053
[SPEAKER_01]: visuals.
01:55.073 --> 01:56.754
[SPEAKER_01]: What did you think when you came into the room?
01:56.774 --> 01:59.356
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, I had the welcoming committee.
01:59.436 --> 02:04.740
[SPEAKER_00]: I had the dog run up to me, which was on brand for what I'm here to talk about today.
02:04.760 --> 02:08.603
[SPEAKER_00]: But, so, I mean, it's a great space.
02:09.697 --> 02:15.082
[SPEAKER_01]: really awesome great people awesome I know when we came into kingdom studios is where I'm J.T.
02:15.142 --> 02:32.257
[SPEAKER_01]: visuals is located and they have this cute little dog that looks just like shadow kind of except for um it was like more of a copper is brown you know and um shadow is black with his little gray um for you know how that is but
02:33.197 --> 02:34.037
[SPEAKER_01]: It is J.T.
02:34.077 --> 02:35.258
[SPEAKER_01]: visuals is wonderful.
02:35.378 --> 02:37.719
[SPEAKER_01]: I love because like today was one of those days.
02:37.739 --> 02:40.480
[SPEAKER_01]: We all have one of those days It's kind of like I feel like it's the Monday.
02:40.560 --> 02:43.421
[SPEAKER_01]: I just got back in town from Atlanta.
02:43.621 --> 02:55.105
[SPEAKER_01]: I went to see my grand babies They just got out of school and my bestie gave me this cute little coffee cup and that's what came So today I like this is how it's feeling like I need this sleeping
02:56.385 --> 03:03.209
[SPEAKER_01]: So shout out to Yolanda, thanks for giving me a cute cup on my way out of Atlanta because it was a fast trip.
03:03.249 --> 03:14.895
[SPEAKER_01]: We literally flew, we drove, we drove in on Thursday and I drove out on Monday morning since it was a four day weekend.
03:14.915 --> 03:19.777
[SPEAKER_01]: It was super fast, super quick, but I had a really good time.
03:20.137 --> 03:24.900
[SPEAKER_01]: And so when you're able to just walk in and have your podcast recorded,
03:25.360 --> 03:26.902
[SPEAKER_01]: and then they take care of everything.
03:27.242 --> 03:35.151
[SPEAKER_01]: That was one last thing I had to check off my checklist this week because anytime I take a break I swear it takes like two or three weeks to catch up.
03:35.251 --> 03:36.212
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how is that way.
03:36.252 --> 03:37.293
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah for sure.
03:37.773 --> 03:38.875
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just crazy.
03:38.935 --> 03:39.816
[SPEAKER_01]: So welcome.
03:39.876 --> 03:40.997
[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to J.T.
03:41.057 --> 03:41.618
[SPEAKER_01]: visuals.
03:41.818 --> 03:45.321
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited to let you know a little bit more about my friend.
03:46.002 --> 03:56.762
[SPEAKER_01]: And so first of all, I want us to tell you I want you to tell us just a little bit about yourself and what the wellness shop for dogs provides.
03:57.252 --> 04:01.634
[SPEAKER_00]: So my name is Priscilla and I am the owner of the Wellness Shopper Dogs.
04:02.174 --> 04:03.915
[SPEAKER_00]: We are a full service grooming salon.
04:04.535 --> 04:10.837
[SPEAKER_00]: We do everything, baths, desheds, full grooms, doodles, huskies, anything in between.
04:12.278 --> 04:17.640
[SPEAKER_00]: Our setup is a little bit unique in that all of our groomers own their own business.
04:18.220 --> 04:22.782
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not taking commission from anybody and all the girls get to make their own.
04:23.622 --> 04:28.103
[SPEAKER_00]: money and schedule and all of us are also moms.
04:28.583 --> 04:35.945
[SPEAKER_00]: So I encourage kids to be in the shop if you know if somebody needs help with trial care.
04:35.965 --> 04:39.245
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to limit somebody because of that.
04:40.706 --> 04:42.666
[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, we all love our clients.
04:42.706 --> 04:44.666
[SPEAKER_00]: We love our dogs.
04:45.147 --> 04:46.967
[SPEAKER_00]: Shadow, I think loves it there.
04:47.747 --> 04:55.094
[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't start to get used to it at first because I know they get all excited when you get close they start going oh we're seeing this.
04:55.234 --> 04:56.855
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but that's awesome.
04:56.895 --> 05:09.747
[SPEAKER_01]: I think you know that speaks a lot about your shop They get excited when they come and you know Chanel like literally I don't have her on least she just runs through and goes of course with shadow that was obedient but not really
05:10.407 --> 05:15.429
[SPEAKER_01]: But he is my little frisky one who likes to get into things.
05:15.509 --> 05:17.770
[SPEAKER_01]: But I love that that's how the shop runs.
05:17.830 --> 05:19.011
[SPEAKER_01]: It's very smooth.
05:19.411 --> 05:23.332
[SPEAKER_01]: It's easy drop off, easy to pick them up.
05:23.452 --> 05:26.894
[SPEAKER_01]: I know there's a lot going on sometimes because you do have a lot of dogs coming through.
05:26.914 --> 05:29.435
[SPEAKER_01]: But even with that, you guys are very organized.
05:29.495 --> 05:31.536
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like that.
05:31.576 --> 05:33.216
[SPEAKER_01]: You communicate well with us.
05:33.497 --> 05:34.517
[SPEAKER_01]: I won't go anywhere else.
05:34.637 --> 05:36.298
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no where else I will go.
05:37.699 --> 05:40.341
[SPEAKER_01]: because you know dogs are more to people.
05:40.361 --> 05:42.843
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean they're more precious to us.
05:42.883 --> 05:43.944
[SPEAKER_01]: They're a family member.
05:44.024 --> 05:50.170
[SPEAKER_01]: Basically I love when I go and pick up you know on prescriptions and stuff because it's like they're part of the family.
05:50.230 --> 05:52.032
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I am here for Shadow Newman.
05:52.572 --> 06:09.747
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's pretty funny how that happens, but, you know, they're a part of us, they're a part of our lives, and so we want to be very careful to who we choose to use as a dog groomer, and I totally 100% give my sale of approval for your spot because
06:10.227 --> 06:12.909
[SPEAKER_01]: Not only you, but everybody else there is the same way.
06:12.949 --> 06:37.049
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm out of coming and taking content for you because you know, you know, when I started doing that, you know, for you coming in, kind of grabbing content here and there and helping you get posts, you know, as you started to really want to focus on, you know, your social media, you know, I was able to capture a little bit about everybody and so that was pretty cool.
06:38.205 --> 06:40.387
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so how did your love for dogs begin?
06:41.088 --> 06:43.771
[SPEAKER_00]: I have always been an animal lover.
06:44.191 --> 06:49.056
[SPEAKER_00]: I ever since I was a little kid, I thought I was going to end up going to vet school, which I did.
06:49.076 --> 06:54.581
[SPEAKER_00]: I started out at vet school and then got my master's in veterinary public health.
06:55.202 --> 06:56.203
[SPEAKER_00]: But I think...
06:56.883 --> 07:02.786
[SPEAKER_00]: My real passion for animals started because my dad He's from the Dominican Republic.
07:03.006 --> 07:03.987
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
07:04.407 --> 07:14.372
[SPEAKER_00]: And when we would go visit when I was a kid They lived on a farm and so there was all sorts of animals everywhere chickens pigs horses everything that was my home
07:15.372 --> 07:29.698
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and then my parents got me my first dog when I was in second grade and I mean, it's just now I have three dogs a cat a rabbit my mom has two dogs is just chaos all the time
07:30.298 --> 07:31.579
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's wonderful, okay.
07:31.599 --> 07:32.359
[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
07:32.439 --> 07:33.940
[SPEAKER_01]: I think her is a great chaos.
07:34.300 --> 07:39.063
[SPEAKER_01]: There's something about your pet when they come to you and you've had a stressful day.
07:39.143 --> 07:46.327
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, even though you probably work at them all day long, when you come home and it's your pet, they know how to take that anxiety away.
07:46.627 --> 08:01.235
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know, you know, with Gabriel having his disability that he does, you know, be in deaf and autistic, we got shadow to be a sensory dog for him and help relieve some of that anxiety because he absolutely loved dogs.
08:01.955 --> 08:05.918
[SPEAKER_01]: And but everybody has now decided that he is your
08:06.778 --> 08:09.460
[SPEAKER_01]: you know, a sense-free dog like it really helps you.
08:10.061 --> 08:10.981
[SPEAKER_01]: And he really does.
08:11.061 --> 08:13.903
[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing how you have a bad day no matter what's going on.
08:13.923 --> 08:17.946
[SPEAKER_01]: It can just come sit down and there's just something about it just relaxes you.
08:17.966 --> 08:18.287
[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
08:18.327 --> 08:18.507
[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
08:18.807 --> 08:19.728
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know.
08:19.848 --> 08:25.672
[SPEAKER_01]: It's what I'm so, you know, good more, more relaxing, right, or the more chaotic at the same time.
08:25.872 --> 08:26.032
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
08:27.974 --> 08:36.760
[SPEAKER_01]: So, what made you, I mean, so I know you said you became like a veterinarian, what made you do the switch to be a dog gorilla?
08:36.780 --> 08:39.062
[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's a crazy story.
08:40.983 --> 08:54.372
[SPEAKER_00]: I used to, I was a dog baby in high school, because I did, as my high school job, and when I was at K-State, I would come back for like breaks and come and work at the groom's shop.
08:56.934 --> 09:01.499
[SPEAKER_00]: When I graduated and I moved to New York to start, I was working for the U.S.E.A.
09:01.559 --> 09:03.801
[SPEAKER_00]: as a microbiologist.
09:04.122 --> 09:10.949
[SPEAKER_00]: So I was there for about a year, but I ended up losing my position, due to budget cuts.
09:11.249 --> 09:14.193
[SPEAKER_00]: And then I had met my husband at the time.
09:15.794 --> 09:16.996
[SPEAKER_00]: So I didn't want to leave yet.
09:17.016 --> 09:17.957
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't want to come back home.
09:18.817 --> 09:24.101
[SPEAKER_00]: And so I found a little shop in the Hampton that they needed help with a dog groomer.
09:25.042 --> 09:29.566
[SPEAKER_00]: When I started grooming dogs, I was grooming celebrity dogs and, oh wow.
09:29.866 --> 09:39.794
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and so I was gonna open up my shop out there because the manager of the shop was interested in me and how I was working and helping her out with her business.
09:40.454 --> 09:41.875
[SPEAKER_00]: And then I found out I was pregnant with my daughter.
09:42.776 --> 09:45.338
[SPEAKER_00]: So I said, no, I know she is.
09:46.599 --> 09:48.761
[SPEAKER_00]: She would be a, you need to put her on it.
09:48.881 --> 09:49.642
[SPEAKER_01]: I really do.
09:49.662 --> 09:50.743
[SPEAKER_01]: We should have brought her.
09:50.823 --> 09:52.104
[SPEAKER_01]: She is my doll, baby.
09:52.624 --> 09:53.925
[SPEAKER_00]: She is photogenic.
09:54.466 --> 09:59.690
[SPEAKER_00]: But so I found out I was pregnant with her and I decided, no, I was time to move that comb, I needed my mom.
10:01.051 --> 10:04.635
[SPEAKER_00]: So came home and then two years later I had my son and it was March of 2020.
10:04.655 --> 10:04.815
[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
10:06.696 --> 10:08.577
[SPEAKER_00]: And I would stay at home while I'm all these years.
10:09.738 --> 10:14.661
[SPEAKER_00]: Then my son came along and I was just in Newborn baby land.
10:14.881 --> 10:18.984
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know or care, honestly, what was going on in the world, because I had my baby.
10:20.224 --> 10:24.407
[SPEAKER_00]: So I figured I need to do something.
10:24.827 --> 10:25.668
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
10:25.688 --> 10:31.092
[SPEAKER_00]: So I had posted on Facebook saying that I knew how to groom dogs if anybody knew they're dog groomed.
10:31.933 --> 10:35.776
[SPEAKER_00]: I had no idea that there was a groomer shortage because of COVID.
10:35.796 --> 10:39.159
[SPEAKER_00]: So with that one post, I got over 500 messages.
10:39.319 --> 10:39.839
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
10:39.919 --> 10:40.360
[SPEAKER_00]: overnight.
10:41.460 --> 10:46.125
[SPEAKER_00]: And it just blew up, and so I mean that night, I didn't sleep that night.
10:46.225 --> 10:52.110
[SPEAKER_00]: I was on Amazon next day delivery, getting shampoos and dryers and towel, all the equipment I needed.
10:52.570 --> 11:03.380
[SPEAKER_00]: I was booked out for almost two months, and I converted my garage the next day into a shop, and I mean a lot of my clients are still from when I did my...
11:03.760 --> 11:06.562
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, a garage shop, by total accident.
11:07.223 --> 11:08.644
[SPEAKER_01]: That's being swallowed right there.
11:08.664 --> 11:11.106
[SPEAKER_01]: When you have someone stay with you, you know you're good.
11:11.226 --> 11:11.926
[SPEAKER_01]: And you are good.
11:11.946 --> 11:13.427
[SPEAKER_01]: So go ahead and say, you're good.
11:14.848 --> 11:15.889
[SPEAKER_01]: But yes, I know.
11:15.909 --> 11:19.672
[SPEAKER_01]: And I can see you doing celebrity dogs too, because I mean, you're amazing.
11:19.692 --> 11:22.875
[SPEAKER_01]: Because, you know, a cocker poo is not the easiest.
11:22.915 --> 11:25.677
[SPEAKER_01]: And a cocker poo definitely is not the easiest to cut.
11:25.777 --> 11:27.578
[SPEAKER_01]: And you have not messed up one time.
11:27.658 --> 11:29.680
[SPEAKER_01]: So that is awesome.
11:29.900 --> 11:32.482
[SPEAKER_01]: What inspired the name the wellness shop for dogs?
11:32.862 --> 11:40.569
[SPEAKER_00]: So initially, I wanted something a little more broad because I wanted something I could expand on.
11:41.790 --> 11:52.919
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm very, because of my vet degree, I was very big on like holistic animal health and wellness and health checkups for pets being that I had that knowledge in that background.
11:53.799 --> 12:04.302
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so it was, it was a name that I knew I could expand on eventually, like dog chiropractic or rakey, they have rakey for dogs, I don't know if you knew that or not, I do.
12:04.322 --> 12:05.222
[SPEAKER_00]: But, yeah.
12:05.502 --> 12:07.702
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not that wide learned, but they knew everything.
12:07.862 --> 12:08.202
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
12:08.283 --> 12:15.924
[SPEAKER_00]: So I wanted it to be something I could, that could be all encompassing, if ever, I would have built it up to something, right at that mind.
12:16.004 --> 12:16.384
[SPEAKER_00]: In mind.
12:16.684 --> 12:17.145
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
12:17.305 --> 12:18.445
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to discuss that.
12:18.485 --> 12:22.846
[SPEAKER_01]: Or even just doing TikTok talking about tips and tricks, but I think that's what
12:23.846 --> 12:28.407
[SPEAKER_01]: It's important, you know, is that dog grooming is more than making dogs look cute.
12:28.987 --> 12:35.929
[SPEAKER_01]: It's about, you know, building that trust, comfort, care, anxiety relief, and that's what so cool I love about your name.
12:36.409 --> 12:48.031
[SPEAKER_01]: Is it definitely states that right away that you're more than just a dog groomer, you know, you're there to bring all these things, you know, comfort and care to dogs.
12:48.071 --> 12:48.271
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
12:48.552 --> 12:50.372
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and I think that's pretty awesome.
12:51.272 --> 13:03.742
[SPEAKER_01]: So I know this is pretty crazy, but um, so this is, you know, how you and I met the through pop up shopping events, um, it was a gosh, it's been so easy.
13:04.102 --> 13:05.463
[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't Wellsville, wasn't it?
13:05.483 --> 13:07.404
[SPEAKER_01]: I had the wine walk or something like that.
13:07.424 --> 13:09.006
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I had Bruno with me.
13:09.046 --> 13:09.426
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
13:11.307 --> 13:17.713
[SPEAKER_01]: I was, like, at that point in time, my dog remember was getting ready to move a way north.
13:17.773 --> 13:24.399
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I would drive, but I was like, okay, and so I just, I'm introducing myself to you there.
13:24.980 --> 13:29.344
[SPEAKER_01]: And so what, um, so do you do quite a few pop-up shopping events?
13:29.604 --> 13:35.730
[SPEAKER_00]: I did back then, I did, I did do quite a few, just to kind of get the name out and get, you know, some, you know, some, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,
13:36.050 --> 13:37.652
[SPEAKER_00]: exposure to other areas.
13:37.952 --> 13:43.679
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't do as many now just because I feel like business has gotten so crazy.
13:43.839 --> 13:44.119
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
13:44.199 --> 13:47.783
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you know, you've walked in and I'm like, Gabby, I can't, I have $20
13:50.771 --> 13:53.594
[SPEAKER_00]: No, Kenny, have your heads set on like, oh my goodness.
13:53.654 --> 13:56.397
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I could do it in this joke.
13:57.539 --> 13:58.560
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like crazy.
13:58.580 --> 14:01.863
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I mean, I would like to do more.
14:01.883 --> 14:07.569
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just very difficult to have a vendor event when you are selling a service because you can't.
14:08.170 --> 14:11.151
[SPEAKER_00]: you're just giving out information versus getting out something.
14:11.171 --> 14:12.391
[SPEAKER_00]: Right, but that really didn't help.
14:12.472 --> 14:23.475
[SPEAKER_01]: I think, I mean, you know, I always tell small businesses that you know you have to to get yourself seen and know and remembered what you have done, you have hit all those keys.
14:23.655 --> 14:28.537
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, you use the pop-up shopping and you still go back when you have time.
14:29.117 --> 14:37.682
[SPEAKER_01]: But, of course, at the beginning when you were building your clientele, that was huge and getting your name seen, no, and remember, it's not always about the sale right there.
14:38.302 --> 14:44.045
[SPEAKER_01]: It's getting them to follow you and continually buy from you or come use your service.
14:44.366 --> 14:55.211
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, I think you did a great job at using that, you know, getting out networking, because that was really hard to, I know, for you because, you know, of your schedule at, um,
14:56.452 --> 15:11.945
[SPEAKER_01]: at the shop but you know you did make it you know trying to get out to pop up shopping events and I truly believe that's you know where you grew and got some really good sustaining finance that came over and over and over again.
15:11.965 --> 15:18.130
[SPEAKER_01]: So and I also believe that that has really built you to getting your name out there.
15:18.170 --> 15:21.773
[SPEAKER_01]: You're seeing no no remember now girl you've got a war in 2020.
15:23.594 --> 15:24.314
[SPEAKER_00]: I was shocked.
15:25.815 --> 15:26.295
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not.
15:26.455 --> 15:28.856
[SPEAKER_00]: I got the letter in the mail and I was like, this is a scam.
15:29.156 --> 15:30.156
[SPEAKER_00]: This is unreal.
15:30.397 --> 15:34.778
[SPEAKER_01]: That's how you felt.
15:34.798 --> 15:34.858
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
15:35.498 --> 15:37.699
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you did a lot of hard work behind the scenes.
15:37.899 --> 15:40.700
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think, you know, that got you seen.
15:41.321 --> 15:42.701
[SPEAKER_01]: I got your name out there.
15:43.561 --> 15:45.562
[SPEAKER_01]: And I was really helping you grow.
15:45.662 --> 15:46.963
[SPEAKER_01]: And that makes my heart happy.
15:47.643 --> 15:48.003
[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
15:48.103 --> 15:50.664
[SPEAKER_01]: So since we had met from the pop-up shopping,
15:53.465 --> 16:03.754
[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, when I pivoted, you're one of my first clients, so thank you very much for allowing me to come in and do some of those clips for you and talk to you about social media.
16:04.355 --> 16:10.460
[SPEAKER_01]: I really am so, so proud of you for hitting a thousand followers on Instagram and growing.
16:11.020 --> 16:17.446
[SPEAKER_01]: But I think, you know, that consistency of just showing up over and over and over again has really helped.
16:17.506 --> 16:21.129
[SPEAKER_01]: And I hope I hope me shouting new out has helped too as well.
16:21.549 --> 16:32.892
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's always appreciated anybody who supports me in my business, and every and every tag, every review, it just means volumes to me.
16:33.172 --> 16:34.432
[SPEAKER_01]: Right, so there you go.
16:34.932 --> 16:38.093
[SPEAKER_01]: With that, make sure you go follow her, tell more to follow you.
16:38.533 --> 16:44.955
[SPEAKER_00]: I have my Facebook page, the wellness shop for dogs, and then on my Instagram, the tag is TWS for dogs.
16:45.729 --> 16:46.089
[SPEAKER_01]: Awesome.
16:46.109 --> 16:47.170
[SPEAKER_01]: So those are two spots.
16:47.190 --> 16:51.093
[SPEAKER_01]: So take a pause even if you have to hiss and go check her out.
16:51.153 --> 16:52.094
[SPEAKER_01]: Follow her like her.
16:52.574 --> 16:56.917
[SPEAKER_01]: So you can see and then of course I shall her out all the time on Kathy Coats events.
16:57.738 --> 17:00.620
[SPEAKER_01]: So, um, she is one of my preferred vendors.
17:01.420 --> 17:04.501
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I shout her out all the time as well.
17:04.801 --> 17:13.003
[SPEAKER_01]: Every time I bring the dogs in, I'm always, you know, showing it on my storyline and showing her gifts and talent because you are very talented.
17:13.203 --> 17:22.405
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I want to talk a little bit about on this episode, you being a mom, you know, and raising kids and how that kind of works.
17:22.425 --> 17:25.626
[SPEAKER_01]: Because, you know, we always have a business side of our story.
17:26.246 --> 17:35.091
[SPEAKER_01]: but I also want to speak to everyone because and you know, there's everyone who has kids, you know, are dealing with the same thing of balancing schedules and stuff.
17:35.752 --> 17:38.073
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, how is that, how does that look for you?
17:38.193 --> 17:46.498
[SPEAKER_01]: I know you do a beautiful job, you have beautiful kids that I adore and I think your daughter, I just, she's like, I love her.
17:46.518 --> 17:47.838
[SPEAKER_01]: I just natural every time.
17:47.859 --> 17:49.039
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I saw and he's so cute too.
17:49.079 --> 17:49.359
[SPEAKER_00]: He's so bad.
17:49.399 --> 17:52.101
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
17:52.821 --> 18:09.430
[SPEAKER_01]: he is so he is so sweet he is high energy yeah but he is sweet he's a boy I think he's a boy all the way but your daughter she follows me around so that's why I mean she's like she's my little partner and yeah she's a princess she does she likes to follow me all the rounds
18:10.455 --> 18:11.235
[SPEAKER_01]: and I love it.
18:11.355 --> 18:11.836
[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
18:11.876 --> 18:22.241
[SPEAKER_01]: So how tell me how I know through when you did vendor shows they would come with you and I always encouraged that they were very, I mean you say he's bad and he was well enough to be able to be at my show.
18:22.301 --> 18:28.104
[SPEAKER_01]: So I always, and so I love how you brought them in and let them have a part of that.
18:28.604 --> 18:31.886
[SPEAKER_01]: But tell me a little bit how you balanced that through the shop.
18:32.226 --> 18:36.249
[SPEAKER_00]: So my mom, I mean, she is my right hand.
18:36.289 --> 18:37.410
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a single mom, so.
18:37.891 --> 18:42.154
[SPEAKER_00]: But my mom, she doesn't work, and she's actually my neighbor, which works out great.
18:43.195 --> 18:44.856
[SPEAKER_00]: She helps him with the kids whenever I need.
18:45.777 --> 18:49.160
[SPEAKER_00]: And then those kids that shop is their second home.
18:49.420 --> 18:49.640
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
18:49.980 --> 18:57.024
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they do their vacuuming, they're helping brush check and dogs out, giving them treats, you know, they have a blast there.
18:57.324 --> 19:02.547
[SPEAKER_00]: And that was part of the reason why I stuck with the grooming thing.
19:02.567 --> 19:05.749
[SPEAKER_00]: And because I make my own schedule, I can have my kids there.
19:05.849 --> 19:12.933
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's also teaching them and showing them what hard work looks like and what they could be capable of one day.
19:13.556 --> 19:15.276
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly and kids love dogs.
19:15.456 --> 19:19.858
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm gonna get it play the whole bunch of different dogs Which we fun and I have seen them there.
19:19.878 --> 19:34.241
[SPEAKER_01]: They are big help, and they always come running And give me hugs and talk to me and so it's kind of nice as a customer coming in and Extra love like it's awesome, but but I think that speaks volumes in and you know I even remember growing up
19:35.314 --> 19:49.635
[SPEAKER_01]: my mother was a cosmologist and so we would go and set it to shop in the summer especially because there was a library right across the way so we'd walk because of course I was old enough then to walk across the street to the library and then come back with books or whatever
19:50.216 --> 19:54.840
[SPEAKER_01]: and then they had me run and pick up the cozy in hamburgers which at that point in time.
19:54.900 --> 20:00.144
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought was the coolest thing in the world till I realized that I was the one that smelled like hamburgers rest of the day, not them.
20:00.785 --> 20:08.131
[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, all those fun things, but I think that's where that builds that onto pernual spirit, you know, in our children.
20:08.311 --> 20:10.693
[SPEAKER_01]: They start realizing their gifts.
20:11.233 --> 20:32.570
[SPEAKER_01]: Because everybody has a gift and we're all talented in some way and we have a purpose on earth and I love when I see Mothers like you in stalling that in their kids every day Encouraging them to find out what that gift is because no matter what environment we're in We can find out what our gift is and use that talent at a young age
20:33.150 --> 20:37.451
[SPEAKER_01]: And when we are doing a business, they're able to find that faster.
20:38.192 --> 20:44.514
[SPEAKER_01]: And I look at that through my kids, you see Genesis, and she, you know, and he's a client.
20:44.534 --> 20:50.656
[SPEAKER_01]: They all have, you know, entrepreneurial spirits and getting out there, making it happen and what they do.
20:51.116 --> 20:57.098
[SPEAKER_01]: But they followed me around in the gym for many years, you know, just like yours or following you at.
20:57.758 --> 21:12.227
[SPEAKER_01]: The wellness shop for dogs and trust me they will it's gonna be funny how you see them be ahead because they're gonna know First of all what work is like because I don't think you know kids a lot of kids don't know enough about work.
21:12.407 --> 21:12.587
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah
21:13.287 --> 21:20.652
[SPEAKER_01]: and real work, exactly, and that there's payment for work, you know, and payment is not always monetary.
21:21.192 --> 21:24.734
[SPEAKER_01]: It's about that fulfillment you fill inside.
21:25.455 --> 21:31.318
[SPEAKER_01]: It's about integrity, you know, and those are all built within a small business.
21:31.539 --> 21:37.502
[SPEAKER_01]: And so introducing your kids to that, a young age is so so important.
21:37.642 --> 21:41.545
[SPEAKER_01]: So, first of all, I want to give you two those for being a wonderful mom.
21:42.165 --> 21:46.527
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not always, you know, easy, but it is also worth it.
21:46.567 --> 21:48.287
[SPEAKER_01]: Always, always, so worth it.
21:48.468 --> 21:52.589
[SPEAKER_01]: And I love how you integrate that within your business.
21:52.629 --> 22:00.072
[SPEAKER_01]: And I wanted to highlight that, because I think that's super important about your story as that you've done this raising to kids.
22:00.152 --> 22:00.552
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
22:01.092 --> 22:04.133
[SPEAKER_00]: And it takes people like you that understand that.
22:04.353 --> 22:08.335
[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, you know, if you've invited me to something, but I have the kids,
22:08.815 --> 22:26.287
[SPEAKER_00]: either they're coming or I'm not going because they do they they come first having people that understand that and support that and a lot of my clients know that if my kids sick and I got a reschedule of dog it's not a big deal they know that I'm going to get them in they know and that's the other thing I really appreciate about.
22:26.907 --> 22:33.812
[SPEAKER_00]: My business is I have such a close relationship with all my clients they know my personal life I know their personal life.
22:33.892 --> 22:42.277
[SPEAKER_00]: I know they're taught like I see them every couple months We catch up and they truly we truly care about one another and that that's a huge difference
22:42.737 --> 22:43.338
[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks.
22:43.678 --> 22:47.281
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, and that's what makes us that's what makes your business stand out too.
22:47.701 --> 23:01.373
[SPEAKER_01]: It's cuz you do truly care And you do truly understand what it's like and and and are able to to make those adjustments when needed and vice versa And I think that's so important and that's what makes our community so strong
23:02.613 --> 23:18.680
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I just had to have you on today and celebrate you because I'm so so proud of you to see you work And I know, you know, social media was not your thing, you know, at first you were like happy I can't do this I'm just let me shout it out for you Yeah, and then
23:20.020 --> 23:38.591
[SPEAKER_01]: You use those clips because I think that's what's so powerful is that's the heart I have because like when I did the pop-up shopping events That was the season and we all have different seasons in our business and I loved it I was able to get a lot of Businesses exposure at one time, you know now.
23:38.611 --> 23:39.912
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm kind of turned that over
23:40.512 --> 23:43.996
[SPEAKER_01]: and let most sophisticated events with Monique take that side of it.
23:44.016 --> 23:49.824
[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, I'm still in there, you know, helping and guiding and doing that kind of stuff.
23:50.344 --> 23:57.653
[SPEAKER_01]: But now I have pivoted to helping businesses because I see the need for that extra help.
23:57.693 --> 23:58.634
[SPEAKER_01]: You may not have
23:59.315 --> 24:14.433
[SPEAKER_01]: the time or even the money to hire a full marketing agency, but you can let someone come in and do clips and then be collaborator on it and it comes across and you're seeing that works because those numbers are going up you fit a thousand now.
24:14.533 --> 24:16.674
[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't mean you have to post every single day.
24:16.714 --> 24:22.195
[SPEAKER_01]: We have found a way that works for you, for that to grow in a different way.
24:22.235 --> 24:24.476
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what is important.
24:24.656 --> 24:28.277
[SPEAKER_01]: It's because you're there to take care of the dogs that's where your gift is.
24:28.797 --> 24:34.759
[SPEAKER_01]: And so allowing me, thank you very much, to come in and help with that some is important.
24:34.839 --> 24:43.241
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's where we all come together as a community and collaborate together where we can help each other because we'll be helping each other we rise.
24:43.981 --> 25:06.790
[SPEAKER_01]: and I think that's so important and so congratulations on hitting a thousand you know you're going to go away further than that It's going to go a lot faster now than you're getting a lot of exposure once you get you know your name known a little It which it is and now you're being seen and remember people are going to start following you more and more and more and that's exciting That's exciting
25:07.050 --> 25:09.733
[SPEAKER_01]: for you and to see what the next step is.
25:09.933 --> 25:10.634
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited.
25:10.674 --> 25:21.245
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited to start helping you get the word out where you can talk a little bit more because I know your heart's desire is to talk more on the wellness of dogs as well.
25:21.886 --> 25:27.091
[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's that next chapter we're hitting and trust you me as much as I pushed you the first time.
25:27.191 --> 25:27.632
[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
25:27.992 --> 25:30.514
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna push you again, so just be ready.
25:30.555 --> 25:31.455
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I mean.
25:31.936 --> 25:38.802
[SPEAKER_00]: And I always said that the reason I have stuck with this, I didn't have, I went to school and I started this job.
25:38.862 --> 25:41.785
[SPEAKER_00]: There was not in my plans, it was not what I expected to do.
25:41.805 --> 25:48.531
[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't my dream, but it has brought the most amazing people into my life and you being one of them.
25:49.091 --> 25:52.014
[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, it's just vice versa.
25:52.214 --> 25:52.774
[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy.
25:52.975 --> 25:58.619
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it's amazing Yeah, we meet in the relationships build and I I'm proud to call you my friend.
25:58.639 --> 26:06.966
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like I really am I am so, so very proud of you This is what be life changers is all about you have truly found your purpose
26:07.828 --> 26:11.217
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I'm making that plan to make it happen.
26:11.457 --> 26:19.920
[SPEAKER_01]: And thank you for joining us on another episode of Beeline Changers, go out there and be a live changer too.
26:20.101 --> 26:22.367
[SPEAKER_01]: We will see you on the next episode.
